The Activity View in Acumen Fuse has a useful “Group By” feature which you can learn about in the following video. We’ve produced this short video explaining the “Group By” feature in more detail with some additional steps on how to provide further grouping.
There’s also a summary of the video below showing you how to use the Activity View in Acumen Fuse has a useful “Group By” feature.
When we look at the features in the Activities ribbon, the area we’re going to focus on is the Activity View. The activity view is used to list, group, and filter tasks (see Figure 1 below).
We want to display the “group by” feature and to do that we need to add two columns to the activity table.
To add a column, right click on any activity table column header and select “Show Column Chooser” from the popup menu. And the chooser dialog appears (Figure 2).
As shown below in Figure 3, in the Column Chooser scroll down till you find ‘Subcontractor UDF’. Left click it, drag, and drop to the activity table and place it right between Description and Start.
We repeat this for ‘Location UDF’ and drop it right between Subcontractor UDF and Start. Close the column chooser shown in Figure 4.
Now we want to group by subcontractor. To do that click the lower half of the Activity View button | Grouping | Group by Fields option (Figure 5).
In the Group by Fields dialog, locate the ‘Subcontractor UDF’ field in the Available Fields list. Click the arrow to move ‘Subcontractor UDF’ into the Grouping Fields list.
Choose a suitable color (green) and click Ok as shown below in Figure 6.
Expand the activity table. Go to Activity View | Grouping | Display Level click level 1 and then slide over to level 2.
Now we have all our activities grouped by the subcontractor doing the work (Figure 8).
