If you’ve experienced the following error message in Primavera P6, then here’s how to fix it.
Cannot set cost because there is no price
Primavera P6 ‘Cannot set cost because there is no price’ error message is easily solved. This article shows what causes it and the solution to it addressing it.
When you attempt to enter a labor cost in the Budgeted or Remaining Labor Cost columns, the following message appears: Cannot set cost because there is no price.
Reason:
This is due to a zero value for the selected project in the ‘Default Price / Unit for activities without resource or role Price / Units’ field in the Calculations tab of the Project view.
Solution:
If you wish to put a labor cost on an activity without using a resource assignment, you should enter a value in this field. For example, placing a value of $1.00 in this field will allow you to enter a monetary value directly in the Budgeted or Remaining Labor Cost field.
