EVMP Forum 2023
The Earned Value Management Practitioners (EVMP), in association with the Federal Publications Seminars (FPS), will hold their annual Forum on Nov 14 and 15, 2023. The EVMP Forum is in its 13th year and offers delegates a two-day training workshop designed to help improve personal skills and their organisations’ processes for project controls.
EVMP Forum 2023 is for delegates interested in EVM and attracts Government and Industry Program Managers, Project Controls Managers, EVM Managers, and EVM Application Users.
EVMP Forum 2023 will be held on the top two floors of the UVA Darden Conference Center in Arlington, USA.

The workshops will be divided into two tracks, being held in the morning and afternoon on Nov 14 and 3 tracks, in the morning and afternoon on Nov 15. Delegates can dive between the tracks.
Nov 14 Morning
Track 1- DOD EVM Policies, Guidance, and Processes
Jen Horner, EVM Deputy Program Manager at Tecolote Research, will present the ‘IPMDAR Metrics, Working Group Update and Live Demo.’
John McGahan, Technical Manager /Chief Scientist, Tecolote Research, will offer an ‘IPMDAR Data Dive.’
Kristen Ross, Defense Contract Management Agency EVMS specialist, will run a workshop called ‘DOD EVM Policies, Guidance, and Processes.’
Track 2- Agency EVM Policies, Guidance & Processes
Daniel Goldsmith, program analyst at the U.S. Department of Energy, will present the ‘DOE Implementation of the IP2M METTRR toolset.’
Tony Spillman, Project Management &EVMS compliance Manager DOE, will discuss the ‘DOE IP2M METTRR’ pilot project. Daniel and Tony will form part of the DOE IP2M METRR panel to discuss best practices and lessons learned.
Track 1 Afternoon- DOD EVM Policies, Guidance and Processes
David Tervonen, Deputy Director of Naval Acquisition Policy, will offer a presentation on ‘Adaptive Acquisition Framework and EVM Application.’
Ivan Bembers, Chief EVM Center of Excellence for the National Reconnaissance Office, will lead a workshop on ‘NRO EVM and Agile Integration Methods.’
Track 2- Agency EVM Policies, Guidance & Processes
Jon Flemming, NASA EVM Program Executive and Kristen Kehrer, NASA EVM Deputy Program Executive, will offer a ‘NASA Update.’
Nov 15 Morning
Track 1- Project Controls Analyst
Bob Ameen, Director of Project Controls for BDO, and Kelsey Jonikin, of Project Controls for BDO, will both present ‘Project Organization and Development: Calendar, WBS, OBS, Resources, Rates, IMS, PMB, and EVTs.’
Laura Bier is the Principal at Vytal Solutions. Laura will present a workshop on ‘Root Cause Analysis: Unexpected Reasons for Cost and Schedule Variances that Can be Uncovered.’
Salatur Rahman, Senior Manager of Project Controls at BDO and Kelsey Jonikin, Manager of Project Controls for BDO, will discuss ‘A Month in the Life of a Project Controls Analyst.’
Track 2- Agile and EVM Management
Sachin Mathur, President of Vytal Solutions. Sachin will present ‘Agile Fundamentals and Transitioning to Agile.’
Sachin Mathur, President of Vytal Solutions & Dave Scott, Principal at C&S Solutions, will lead a workshop on ‘Agile Planning and Project Management for Government Programs’.
Laura Bier, Principal at Vytal Solutions & Dave Scott, Principal at C&S Solutions, will present ‘Planning for Government Contracts with Development Deliverables and Support.’
Track 3- Implementation of EVM Policies and Compliance
Jessica Coral, Principal of C&S Consulting and Dan Demangos, Product Manager at Deltek, will present ‘IPMDAR: Best Practices and Lessons Learned’.
Brittany Elwonder, PMO Leader at G.E. Aerospace, will lead a workshop on ‘Schedule Surveillance.’
Track 1 Afternoon – Project Controls Analyst
Dave Scott, Principal of C&S Solutions, Jacqui Covert, Manager of Program Planning & Control at BAE Systems Electronic Systems and Denise Russell, Senior Solution Architect at Deltek, will present ‘Baseline Change Best Practice: When, Why, & How’.

Track 2- Agile and EVM Management
Dave Scott and Denise Russell will present ‘Project Controls for Agile Projects, Implementing Agile and EVM.’
Laura Bier & Dave Scott will lead a workshop on ‘Project Controls for Agile Projects. A Project Execution and Performance Measurement Model’.
Track 3-Implementation of Government EVM Policies and Compliance
Jessica Coral, Principal at C&S Consulting, will present ‘Reimplementing and Reimagining your EVMS’
Abbas Saifi, PSP, Planning & Scheduling Manager at EllisDon, will present ‘Implementing an Earned Value (EVM) System (EVMS) on Public Infrastructure Project’.
Networking
Networking is scheduled on both days. Deltek will host both networking lunches where Government and Industry experts will be available to answer questions.

Summary
EVMP 2023 is a forum organised by EVM application users, designed to help EVM practitioners share best practices through conversation and help peers become more effective in using EVM tools, analysis and reporting. Delegates can select different topics and tailor this event to suit their capabilities and needs. EVMP has something to offer everyone regardless of where you are in your career.
