If you’ve created any new cost sets in Deltek Cobra lately, you can apply them to other projects in the system using the Copy Cost Sets button in the Cost Sets tab of the Project Information dialog. This is a neat feature that can save you a great deal of time. It allows you to copy any number of costs sets to any number of projects; all in one quick, simple operation.
How to Copy Cost Sets
Follow these steps to copy cost sets to other selected projects in your Cobra system.
1. In the Projects tab, select the source project that has the cost sets you wish to copy.
2. Open the Project menu and choose the Project Information… option.
3. Click on the Cost Sets tab.
4. Click the Copy Cost Sets… button.
5. In the Copy Cost Sets dialog, select the cost sets to copy in the left-hand list box.
Note: you have an additional option at the top of the dialog to allow existing cost sets with the same name in the target projects to be replaced.
6. Click the Copy>> button.
7. Click Yes on the prompt dialog to confirm the action.
8. View the Process Log Viewer to see the results of you copy.
The Process Log Viewer shows the selected cost sets and what projects they were copied to. You can save this log to your workstation for future reference.
