Ten Six will be jointly presenting with Deltek a free 1 hour Webinar on Planning and Earned Value in an Agile Environment. Our own Tim Boatwright will be discussing how to integrate Agile development into an Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting environment. He will also cover things to watch out for when implementing Earned Value on a project with agile development and how the agile data should be treated by your earned value processes.
The benefits of agile planning – faster development, higher quality and the ability to meet changing business priorities – are more apparent than ever and the practice is increasingly being adopted in today’s project world. The same is true for the practice of earned value management.
However combining the two, or implementing EVM in agile environments, has been slow to practice partly due to the misconception that EVM lacked the flexibility to cope with changing requirements or that the practice was simply too difficult to implement to truly be beneficial for agile projects. Often seen as conflicting, Tim will be showing how both can happily coexist and dispel the myth that it’s too difficult to implement.
Presenting with Tim will be Cathy Boatwright from Deltek who will address how Deltek’s suite of PPM tools can facilitate agile planning and EVM.
Highlights include:
- Utilizing Agile and EVM together
- Understanding project organization in an Agile/EVM environment
- How to map agile execution to earned value analysis
- Demonstration of how Deltek’s tools facilitates agile EVM
