An update to the 5/16 blog on the new point release from Deltek
As much as I always try to be as accurate as possible in the information I share about Deltek’s applications, I goof things up once in a while. My sincere thanks to Deltek for pointing out a faux paz I made in the 5/16 blog concerning the reason for the release of Deltek Cobra version 5.1.
I talked about its release being to support the Cobra Web Pack tool. Evidently however, the release was actually in support of a new offering from Deltek called Deltek PM Compass. The Cobra Web Pack release was to support the new 5.1 system; not the other way around. My bad. I’ve updated the original article to reflect the above correction.
Deltek PM Compass
Deltek PM Compass is a new addition to Deltek’s EPM portfolio for Program Managers and Project Leaders due for release this summer. I think this will be an exciting and innovative addition to Deltek’s tool set and I look forward to seeing it.
More good news…
While I’m about it, there’s another update from that article I’d like to share. I was grumbling about the fact that the columns in the Project Table still don’t stick when you perform updates or calculation functions.
The good news is, I saw a recent posting from Deltek in the Cobra Forum. They have responded positively to everyone’s comments and have elevated the priority for a fix. No release date yet, but it’s nice to know it’s in the works. So folks, let’s keep busy on the forums, it’s clearly a great way to provide Deltek with real-world feedback to help make their products even more awesome.
