The Schedule Realism Advisor in Acumen Fuse, provides suggestions for calibrating each activity based on a given criteria. You can use the Schedule Realism Advisor dialog box to define whether the Advisor should calculate suggestions using Schedule Quality, Historical Performance, Metrics, or Fields.

We’ve produced a short video on this topic. You can also see other Deltek videos by Ten Six here.
If you go to the Scenario Generation ribbon group and click on Schedule Realism Advisor, a dialogue box appears.
Choose from the following options:

Schedule Quality – This mode presents uncertainty assignments based on the Fuse Schedule Index score for each activity and/or deliverable.
Historical Performance – This mode compares the baseline plan to the current schedule and looks for discrepancies to suggest which activities should be accelerated. Note the historical performance mode requires you to have imported a baseline.
Metric – Select any metric from Acumen to use as the basis for acceleration suggestions.
Field – Select any field from the project to use as the basis for acceleration suggestions.
Select the manual scenario in the navigator pane and choose Schedule Realism Adviser.
In the Schedule Realism Adviser dialog, we select Schedule Quality and then click the Calculate Advice button.

Note the color changes to icons in the Adviser column adjacent to the Calibration column for the deliverables and the respective activities.

Click on a deliverable, e.g., ‘Labors and Equipment Mobilization’.
Hover the mouse of the Schedule Realism Advisor and it displays the respective activity Schedule Quality metric score.

Click on the Schedule Realism Advisor icon and a dialogue with two options appear.
1) Assign summary suggestion to all activities in the deliverable.
2) Assign individual suggestions for each activity to each activity.

Click on an activity, e.g., Equipment Mobilization.
If you hover your mouse over the Schedule Realism Adviser icon for that activity a dialogue appears that says ‘Requires significantly more time’.

Click on the icon and a dialogue appears that asks ‘Assign suggestion to activity.”
Click on the suggestion.

Note that the assignment is made and for that activity and the calibration slider moves to ‘Requires significantly more time.”

To undo the Schedule Realism Advisor changes, simply move the slider back in line with the others and click to unlock the calibration slider lock.
So that’s the Schedule Realism Adviser. You may have to experiment with the Schedule Realism Advisor to gain confidence in the recommendations provided.
