Did you know that you can create a Project from a Template in Primavera P6 EPPM? Primavera P6 EPPM alos has a feature to create templates from existing schedules. This can save project professionals hours of work from creating projects from scratch when they are producing projects that are similar to one another.
You can also use a varied list of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements when creating a template as well as activities, steps roles or resources.
Users can create a brand-new project template in Primavera P6 EPPM or they can copy and modify an existing template/project to make a brand-new template.
Once you start using this feature, not only will it save time when setting up a new project but organizations can be sure that project data that is shared is consistent. Users can create a master template from a project in Primavera P6 EPPM and then by using the copy/paste function make various versions of it. Users can also copy the entire template or they may just insert only the WBS portion into a project. The options are varied depending on the project requirements.
When you copy a project to create a template, some fields are automatically cleared of any values and disabled to prevent the reuse of data out of context. For example, actual dates and costs are not permitted in templates.
