While many P6 administrators are familiar with running a Primavera P6 EPPM User Login Report, we still get questions about it. Some of these questions inquire if such a report even exists. With more folks implementing Primavera P6 EPPM than ever before, including the running it in the cloud, it shouldn’t be too surprising that this comes up.
One thing that can get overlooked, is that the end users don’t know this capability exists in Primavera P6 EPPM. Running a User Login Report might be quite useful if, for example, they need to know who had access to what when trouble shooting data anomalies.
So, what does a Primavera P6 EPPM User Login Report look like and what’s in it. Well, it’s a standard report that includes a list of users who have logged into P6 EPPM within a specified time period (the Time interval to store user login information setting can be found in the Application Settings).
The User Login Report includes the following information:
- User ID
- User name
- Login date and time
- Logout date and time
- The total time the user was logged in
- The application the user logged into
- The server for that application

It’s really very simple to run the report if you have the appropriate privileges. You just go to the Reports page and click on the Reports tab.
Then, you need to find the actual report by:
- Expanding the P6Reports folder
- Expanding the Administrative folder
- And finally, clicking User Login Report
Summary
This may seem very basic to most Primavera P6 EPPM administrators. But for new implementations where the administrators are thrown in the deep end without specific P6 EPPM administrator training, it can be missed. This is more common in small implementations in small business where only the minimum amount of implementation support and training are considered.
As mentioned already, many end users are often oblivious to this capability which, can actually be rather useful to them on occasion.
