PMO Conference 2026

PMO Conference 2026

This year’s PMO Conference 2026 will be held on June 18 at 1 Basinghall Avenue, Moorgate, London, EC2V 5DD. Prior to the conference on June 17, in Moorgate, the PMO will hold PMO Learn, a classroom training day.

PMO Learn will be run by PMO experts in an interactive classroom setting. Delegates will be able to explore four themes that focus on best practice, practical techniques, frameworks and models, helping PMOs support project, programme and portfolio delivery. The four themes will be:

  • Choosing the right PMO Model – drawing on established thinking from the House of PMO, delegates will build a practical PMO Canvas that defines purpose, boundaries, services and success measures.
  • Standardization and Delivery Methods – delegates will learn how to design a minimum viable delivery framework with practical standards that work across waterfall, hybrid and agile environments.
  • Governance and Sponsorship Throughout: delegates will explore governance across the full lifecycle, creating a lifecycle governance map that enables better, faster decisions.
  • Start with the End in Mind: Strategic Alignment, Prioritisation & Benefits – delegates will connect strategy to delivery through benefits-led thinking and practical prioritisation.

PMO Conference

The PMO conference is offering three Keynote speakers and a variety of PMO tracks led by PMO industry professionals.

Keynote Speakers

Joe Pusz

Joe Pusz, aka PMO Joe, is the Founder and CEO of PMO Squad Staffing. Joe will present ‘From PMO to OPD: Building Project Delivery into the Business.’ During his keynote, Joe will examine how PMO leaders often focus on building PMO maturity to demonstrate the benefits a mature PMO can provide for an organisation.

Joe will provide an alternative to OPD (Organisational Project Delivery) that goes beyond PMO maturity and focuses on organisational acceptance and the capability to deliver projects across the entire organisation.

Alexander Budzier

Alexander Budzier is an author and a Fellow in Management Practice at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Alex will present a keynote, ‘How to Measure Anything in Project Management’. Alex will discuss his latest book, How to Measure Anything in Project Management’, which is based on evidence from major projects and behavioural science.

Alex will introduce the measurement mindset: a concept that anything that matters can be measured if it is defined clearly enough. Alex will reveal that measurement isn’t about precision, but about reducing uncertainty in the decisions that matter most, so that the goal is not more data, but better decisions under uncertainty.

 Bonita Norris

Bonita Norris is the youngest female to reach the summit of Mount Everest and the North Pole. In her keynote address, ‘The Mountaineers Mindset,’ Bonita will take you on her journey to explore what it takes to go beyond your limits. In her captivating keynote, Bonita will reveal that, as a beginner climber with an impossible dream of reaching Everest’s summit, her biggest challenge wasn’t Everest itself.

By bringing her journey to life, Bonita demonstrates that success is about marginal gains, mindset and the power of great teams.

Tracks

 Dominic Wilson

Dominic Wilson, Operations PMO Director at BDO UK

Alex Gooding

Alex Gooding, Head of Central Portfolio Office, BDO UK

Dom and Alex will present ‘Smashing Project and Resource Prioritisation in a £1bn Organization.’ Dom and Alex will share how BDO UK PMO took a leap of faith to transform a fragmented landscape into a coordinated client-centric approach for building support. Dom and Alex will highlight practical insights on how they built an end‑to‑end framework centered on clear business rationale, cross‑functional review groups and evidence‑based resource allocation. Their approach has improved strategic alignment, reduced bottlenecks and strengthened organisational trust in prioritisation decisions.

Pierpaolo Zara

Pierpaolo Zara is the founder of AIDVANCE. Pierpaolo will present ‘Beyond the Role. The Transferable Power of the PMO Mindset’. Drawing on experience across corporate transformation and his own career reinvention into AI coaching, Pierpaolo will discuss how PMO is often associated with reporting, governance and organisational maturity, but will explain that the discipline’s real strength lies in its mindset.

Pierpaolo will reveal that when PMO is applied deliberately, portfolio thinking, structured decision frameworks and stakeholder orchestration become transferable systems for navigating complexity and disruption, including the emerging AI landscape.

Alison Williams

Alison Williams is a Senior Programme Manager at Capgemini. Ali will present ‘The Cultural Change Required When Truly Embedding / Transforming a PMO’. Ali will explain, using Capgemini as a real-life example, how embedding and transforming their PMO led to a significant cultural change.

Ali will explain how a fully embedded and Change and Delivery resulted in a welcome PMO that drives better outcomes without additional burdens for project professionals.

Dr Jörg Klein

Dr Jörg Klein is an Interim PMO and Project Leadership consultant. Dr Jörg will present ‘The Minimum Viable PMO: When “Done” is Better than “Perfect”. Dr Jörg will share the Minimum Viable PMO (MVPMO) concept, developed with the Green Project Management (GMP) PMO Expert Group, which offers a fast-track, agile PMO setup to deliver early value within eight weeks.

Dr Jörg will reveal that MVPMO identifies the stakeholders who need the PMO the most, sets up a mini PMO, and, as the organisation matures and scales up, allows the PMO to evolve based on real-world usage data rather than a rigid, predefined plan.

James Evans

James Evans, founder of EvaP3, will present ‘Triage, Treat, Transform: Building a PMO’. James will share a detailed case study of designing and implementing a PMO within a complex health system. James will provide an honest insight into what worked and what didn’t in this highly pressurised environment, with limited capability, cultural resistance and competing strategic priorities.

James will reveal what remains in progress and how to balance immediate operational pressure with longer-term transformation.
