The Project Management Institute (PMI) is holding its PMI Global Summit 2022 on 1-3 December 2022 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. This is a popular event, as PMI is a global leader in Project, Program and Portfolio Management, offering globally recognised PDU certification. There are PMI Chapters in over 67 countries representing a variety of over 1400 organisations.

The theme for PMI Global Summit 2022 will be ‘Reconnect and Build for the Future’. There will be over 100 educational tracks based around the PMI Talent Triangle of Ways of Working (previously known as Technical Project Management), Business Acumen (formally known as Strategic & Business Management), Power Skills (formally known as Leadership), Keynote Speakers, an Exhibiting Hall and Networking.

Jamie Champagne is a Business analyst at Champagne Collaborations. Jamie will present ‘Using Data you (probably) already have to predict Program Risks’. Jamie will offer her insights on how to predict what types of risks will occur on projects with similar characteristics, and how to set up appropriate contingencies, using data you (probably) already have. Jamie will explain how to use data already collected in risk logs to predict which risks are likely to fire. Jamie will also discuss how to employ methods to set up risk contingencies.
Parthiv Bhuta is Vice President consultant for EPM. Parthiv will present ‘Digital Disruptions of AI and the Evolving role of Project Management’. Parthiv will offer his insights on how megatrends are reshaping the globe, and with these megatrends come opportunities as well as challenges. One digital disruption is Artificial Intelligence (AI) which will have an impact on the future workforce including the Project Manager. Parthiv will discuss how AI will change project management and how organizations need to prepare for it. Parthiv will offer his insights on the need for standardisation of project management data and plan on how to use AI for better project delivery.
Dan Lefsky is Vice President of Operations at BlueSoft. Dan will present ‘Automate Your Projects with Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Dan will offer his insights on how Robotic process automation (RPA) is changing the way we work, by streamlining and accelerating the repeatable or predictable tasks currently performed by project managers and project teams. Dan will demonstrate using real-world examples how projects can be run using innovations in RPA.
Business Acumen
Morton Sorensen is Vice president, of the system IT at the Federal Reserve. Morton will present ‘Strategy PMO- Drive Alignment of Strategy, the Enterprise Portfolio and Outcomes’. Morton will offer his insights on the key aspects of how organisations connect vision to strategy, portfolio plans, execution and outcomes. Morton will review the recommended practices and the pitfalls organizations face when developing and translating their strategy into actionable and successful portfolio plans. Learn how to ensure high-level alignment between strategic goals and portfolio plans. Morton will use an example of portfolio analysis and recommend process goals and opportunities for PMOs.
Kathy Milhauser is Associate Professor, at George Fox University. Kathy will present ‘Problems are Good’. Kathy will offer her insights on how problems are good as they present an opportunity to learn and leverage the strengths of the project team. Kathy will explain the basic foundations of lean problem-solving and discuss the value of a problem-solving culture. Kathy will offer her insights on identifying and solving problems in a project environment, offering delegates the opportunity to demonstrate a structured problem identification, analysis, and solution implementation method by participating in a problem-solving activity.
Betsey Stockdale is a Business Architect for ArgonDigital. Betsey will present ‘Curiosity Never Killed the Business Analyst’. Betsey will offer her insights on how stakeholders are often good at telling us what they want, but not so good at telling us what they may need. Betsey will explain how curiosity leads to better questions with better outcomes. Betsey will describe the skills required to become a curious analyst and the tools needed to encourage curiosity.
Power Skills
Kendra Schmid is a consultant at WillowTree. Kendra will present ‘Build the Plane While Flying it: Transform Your Organization without Falling Behind’. Using three different case studies Kendra will offer her insights on how to remain competitive and thrive depending on the ability to adapt to the way we work. Kendra will demonstrate actionable steps that were taken to fix processes and transform an organization without missing a delivery beat. Kendra will explain that by using a replicable method to implement organizational changes while mitigating risk and limiting product impact. Kendra will discuss how to apply a framework for organizational changes to projects and companies of any size.
Maria Cristina Barbero is the Senior Director Head of Project Management, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica and Hagit Landman is the Owner of H. Landman Consulting. Maria and Hagit will present ‘Everything is Changing Everyday Around me -How Can I handle my Baselines?’ In this interactive track, Maria and Hagit will offer their insights on how baselines are core in project management, sharing the progress of work against the initial plan amongst all stakeholders.
Using some real-life cases in IT and Construction Maria and Hagit will brainstorm with delegates how to discover how they can be reinterpreted and adapted, whatever the project life cycle — a hybrid, predictive or agile. Maria and Hagit will explain how baselines in various project life cycles, integrate and blend baselines of iterations with baselines of the whole project. Maria and Hagit will also discuss how earned value performance indexes can split and adapt to high-risk and low-prediction projects.
Tina Parker CEO Lead Outside the Lines. Tina will present ‘Courageously Authentic Leadership- Create Remarkable Results Without Burnout.’ Tina will offer her insights on the latest neuroscience and how leaders must think differently to optimize performance without burning out. Tina will present three neuroscience techniques to eliminate stress and unlock more possibilities to achieve remarkable results with ease. Tina will explain how you can stop chasing strategies that require you to hustle and grind and instead accomplish more while doing less.
Benjamin Anyacho is the Knowledge Management Lead, at the Texas Department of Transportation. Benjamin will present ‘The Great Resignation, Knowledge Retention and Lessons Learning.’ Benjamin will offer his insights on the Great Resignation (spurred on by COVID-19) and the loss of knowledge that these leavers have taken with them. Benjamin will discuss the research that shows knowledge management positively affects job satisfaction. Benjamin will explain and explore how great attrition becomes a great attraction, knowledge retention strategies and learning transformation.
Keynote Speakers
Amy Webb is CEO of Future Today Institute and best-selling author of ‘The Signals Are Talking’. Amy will present an entertaining keynote address ‘Think Like a Futurist’. Based upon her book, Amy will offer her insights on how signals reveal a systematic way of evaluating new ideas bubbling up on the horizon- distinguishing what is a real trend from the merely trendy.

Earvin Magic Johnson, NBA Legend (in the Hall of Fame) Entrepreneur and Philanthropist. Jessica O. Matthews, Innovator and CEO, Uncharted. In this inspiring keynote Magic and Jessica will present ‘Turning Ideas into Action. Magic and Jessica will offer their insights on their work with Jessica’s company Unchartered.
Magic and Jessica will offer their insights on sustainable infrastructure and how they have developed a smart infrastructure model. Magic and Jessica will explain how by developing smart infrastructure cities can reduce the cost of infrastructure worldwide. Magic and Jessica will highlight the impact that can be made when ideas, leadership, and empowerment of others come together.
Beatie Wolfe is a Musician and Artist. Beatie will present a keynote ‘Translating Data into Impact and Art’. Beatie will offer her insights on the development and creation of ‘From Green to Red’, a musical art video she created about the rise of CO2 levels and the human impact on the planet. Beatie will discuss how she used years of historical climate data from NASA, to create this environmental protest that she was invited to present at COP26. At the end of her inspiring keynote, Beatie will perform live ‘From Green to Red’.
