Many folks want to create and save Deltek Acumen Fuse Metrics and make it available to new Acumen Fuse workbooks. Deltek Acumen Fuse software provides a plethora of metrics for inspecting the quality of your respective schedule. It also organizes these metrics into metric groups.
This includes the Schedule Quality group that Acumen provides as the default metric group. Additionally it has the Defense Contract Management Agency’s (DCMA) 14-Point Assessment as a standard metric group. Further Acumen Fuse provides the ability to create your own unique metric group, using the myriad of metrics provided by Acumen.
In Acumen Fuse you may create a new metric group ribbon view directly in diagnostics that becomes available to the current workbook. But if you want your ribbon view available for new workgroups you have to create a new metric group in metrics, which will appear on the ribbon when a new workbook is created.
This article demonstrates how to create a new metric group and make it available for new Acumen Fuse workbook groups.
In Figure 1 we are in Acumen Fuse diagnostics.
Figure 1
Note the Schedule Quality ribbon view and numerous other ribbon view that come standard with Acumen. We want to create a unique ribbon group for inspecting the quality of our schedule. We proceed and select the metric tab, Figure 2.
Figure 2
This makes the metric group features available in Acumen, Figure 3.
Figure 3
In Figure 4 we choose new group in the metrics group, and enter a suitable metric group name.
Figure 4
We type in the metric group name SQA Metrics, which is an abbreviation of Schedule Quality Assurance (SQA) Metrics. The process of adding metrics to our newly created SQA Metrics groups consists of highlighting respective metrics and copy and pasting the metric into the SQA Metrics folder, Figure 5.
Figure 5
In Figure 6 our SQA Metrics folder has several metrics that were copy and pasted from the schedule quality and advanced folders.
Figure 6
Now that we have our SQA Metrics group created we need to save the current metric library as a template that can be later shared or re-used, Figure 7.
Figure 7
In Figure 8 we type in a suitable name for our metric template, Schedule Quality Metrics.

In Figure 9 we select Deltek Acumen Options to set our default file locations.

In Figure 10 we choose the path where our workbooks are saved.
Figure 10
We continue in Figure 11 and make our default metric library location or metrics folder location the same path.
Figure 11
Now that we have created our new metric group and saved the metric library as a template in our database we are ready to create a new workgroup. And see if our SQA Metrics group is available for schedule analysis. In Figure 12 we select to create a new workbook.

In our demonstration we choose to import a Primavera P6 XER file, Figure 13.

In Figure 14 we select the project to import from our XER file.

In Figure 15 we perform the actual import of our XER file.

In Figure 16 we confirm that our SQA Metric is available and has all the metrics we selected, and, additionally, the overall score metric.

Summary
Deltek Acumen Fuse is a robust, comprehensive schedule analysis program that comes standard with numerous metric groups. It is possible in Acumen Fuse to create a new ribbon view directly in diagnostics.
But to make Acumen Fuse metrics groups available for other workbooks, create a new metric group directly in metrics and, afterwards, save the metric library template to a suitable location. Make the paths of the Acumen Fuse workbooks and metrics folder the same for good file organizing. With these tips schedulers are ready to harness the full potential of Deltek Acumen Fuse’s abundance of schedule quality metrics.
