After holding virtual conferences for the last two years due to Covid, Deltek is back in person with a new name, Deltek ProjectCon 2022 (previously known as Deltek Insight) on November 15-18.

Dawn Gajewski, Director, Product Management, Deltek. Dawn will offer her insights on the features in the recent releases of Vantagepoint 4.5, 5.0 and 5.5. Dawn will explain that these features are focused on supporting project managers; designed to monitor project progress, adjust for changes to the project and ultimately set the project up for success. Delegates will be offered an exclusive sneak peek into what’s next for project managers within Vantagepoint in 2023.
What’s new in Ajera for Project Managers
Ellen Keeley, Director, Product Management, Deltek, will present recent enhancements and new feature designs specifically for project managers. Ellen will discuss, entering project RPC and estimated dates directly from a dashboard widget, CRM integration enhancements, new chart types available in widgets, and timesheet enhancements. In this hands-on track, delegates will be able to enter project information from a widget and discover how new information is synced between Ajera and Vantagepoint CRM.
The Pursuit of the Ultimate EMV Tool
Annette Fairburn, Principal PPM Consultant, Deltek and Charlene Randell, EVM, Spirit AeroSystems. Charlene will offer her insights on their journey to select and implement a Deltek Earned Value Management (EVM) solution consisting of Cobra, PM Compass, and Acumen Fuse. Charlene and Annette will review the business processes that they utilized in the past, discuss the details that led them to pursue EVM and look at how they selected Deltek PPM as a solution.
Running a Deltek Acumen Risk Analysis
Joe O’Mara, Sector Program Scheduling Manager, Northrop Grumman. Joe will offer his insights on how an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) is only accurate if every activity starts ‘As Soon As Possible’ and does not take longer than its duration estimates indicate. Joe will discuss how schedules do not always go as planned due to changes in task durations and risk events. Joe will demonstrate by running a Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA), to understand risk, and determine what needs to be done to diminish risk and improve performance. The SRA displays the impact that duration uncertainty has on the ‘Probabilistic Finish’. Joe will use a risk register and create mitigation steps to see how Risk impacts the IMS. Finally, Joe will demonstrate using Schedule Margin and change duration uncertainty to achieve an 80% confidence level.
Attrition Happens: Prepare and Recover with Deltek Talent Management
Amy Champigny, Deltek and David Lee, Product Director, Deltek will offer their insights on the challenges of losing key people in an organisation. Often when attrition happens knowledge is lost and difficulties in staff retention may occur. Amy and David will explain how Deltek Talent Management can help prevent or recover from these attrition challenges.
Implementing Agile Programs in an EVM World
Denise Russell, Deltek and Amy Feinberg, Senior Director, Idemia National Security Solutions. Denise and Amy will offer their insights on although Agile and Earned Value may seem incompatible, more Agile programs are being awarded Earned Value reporting requirements. Denise and Amy will discuss how an organization can fit an Agile schedule into a CPM tool like Open Plan and meet DCMA IPMDAR requirements. Denise and Amy will offer their insights on a recent implementation that integrated Agile JIRA scheduling data into Open Plan.
Increase PMO Productivity with Cobra Automation
Tim Boatwright, Auspex Consulting, Tim will offer his insights on how organisations can leverage Cobra’s API to streamline processes like data analysis, root cause identification, variance analysis and report submittals. By leveraging the API, users can plug their CAMs directly into the monthly processes and provide themselves with the information they need without having to task busy PMO staff with the report. Tim will explain that by leveraging the Cobra API, business processes will become streamlined, eliminating data processing tasks and equipping the CAMs with the information they need when they need it.
Project Portfolio Management Customer Panel
Dan Demangos, Solution Architect, Deltek. Dan will host a panel of customers that use Deltek PPM tools. They will discuss the lessons they learnt from their personal journeys, and how they have managed compliance challenges. Entertainment
Deltek will host a Customer Appreciation Party on Thursday, November 17 from 6.30 pm-10 pm. This will be a Nashville-themed festival, filled with food games and live music. The music lineup will be Sara Evans, Ken Block and Drew Copeland of Sister Hazel, Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts and Steve Augeri, former lead singer of Journey. Together they will perform their greatest hits during a two-hour jamming session.

The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The breakfast area is a bright atrium with a full menu provided for guests. The staff are helpful and offer a great service. A three-night stay costs $729.00.

The Residence Inn by Marriott Opryland is a 3-star hotel situated approximately 0.8 miles from the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center. The hotel is only four years old and is spotlessly clean. The staff have been described as ‘awesome’ with easy check-in/out. The rooms are spacious with great bathrooms and comfy beds. Free Water is available in the marketplace for an entire stay. The hotel is quiet with restaurants close by in the surrounding area. A three-night stay costs $623.00.
