Comba Telecom

Comba Telecom is a supplier of infrastructure and wireless enhancement solutions to mobile operators and enterprises to enhance and extend their wireless communications networks.

Established in 1997 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2003, Comba researches and develops wireless technology through its R&D centers in China and USA. Its manufacturing base in China features advanced testing equipment and one of the largest microwave anechoic testing chambers in the region to ensure quality in its products.

CHALLENGE

Comba Telecom in Hong Kong was bidding on a large project which required the submission to include a detailed project plan in Oracle Primavera P6 format. Comba had not used Primavera P6 in the Hong Kong office and asked Ten Six to support their proposal with Primavera P6 expertise.

THE TEN SIX APPROACH

The Ten Six consultant worked with Comba Telecom remotely from our offices in Virginia Beach, VA. Collaborating with the project manager, we were able to support the effort to create a detailed project plan showing how Comba Telecom would manufacture and implement a train borne WiFi network. The Comba team had little experience with Oracle Primavera P6 relying exclusively on Ten Six for this support.

The deliverables included a collection of Primavera P6 project plans together with the required reports mandated by the client in their Request For Proposal (RFP). All documents were submitted both electronically as well as in print form.

RESULTS

Comba Telecom won the contract with all the requested project management requirements in the RFP exceeded. This is a great example of team collaboration across a distance of over 8,000 miles and a 12 hour time difference.
