
Scheduling vs schedule analysis
Today we’re taking a look at ScheduleLens, a web-based schedule-analysis tool.
Most construction software helps you build and update a program including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject, etc. A separate, smaller category exists to review a program you have been handed. That is, checking its quality, comparing it across updates and forensically analysing delay.
The distinction matters most to the person on the receiving end. This could be an owner’s representative, a client-side PM, or a commercial manager who is sent a contractor’s program and must form a defensible view of it, often without the necessary expertise or even a P6 license of their own.
The recognised starting point for “is this schedule any good?”, is the DCMA 14-Point Assessment, with AACE RP 29R-03 and the SCL Protocol framing the forensic delay side.
The tooling ranges from deep desktop suites (Acumen Fuse, Steelray) to enterprise analytics platforms (SmartPM, Nodes & Links). This review looks at ScheduleLens, a newer, lighter-weight, web-based entrant in that analysis category.
ScheduleLens Review
What it is. A web-based forensic schedule-analysis tool. It does not build or maintain schedules; it analyses ones you already have. You upload a file and it returns a report.
Formats. Primavera P6 (XER and P6 XML), Microsoft Project (.mpp and XML) and Asta Powerproject (.pp). Native .pp ingestion is uncommon in this category and is worth noting for Asta-based teams.
What ScheduleLens produces. A DCMA 14-Point quality score, critical-path and float analysis, logic and constraint checks. And, when two or more updates are uploaded, a forensic delay comparison. Reports include an AI-written executive narrative (optional) and download as PDF with an Excel appendix.

Computed vs written. The findings, scores and numbers are produced by deterministic analysis code, each traceable to a published standard.
The only AI aspect is converting those findings into readable narrative prose via a Large Language Model (LLM). This can be switched off at upload (the report then uses template prose and nothing about the schedule is sent to a third-party AI provider).

Deployment and pricing. ScheduleLens is entirely browser-based. There’s no install and no licence for the original scheduling tool. Priced per report (from $29 for a quality check, $79 for a comparison), with monthly plans from $79.
Privacy. Uploaded schedule files are deleted immediately after processing and are not used to train models.

Where ScheduleLens Fits Best
- The owner-side / Employer’s-Representative reviewer who receives a program and needs a quick, defensible, standards-referenced read.
- Teams working across mixed formats (especially Asta), or without a P6 / Asta licence.
- One-off or per-project analysis, where an enterprise subscription is overkill.
Where it Doesn’t (The Honest Limits)
- ScheduleLens is not a scheduling tool, so you cannot author or re-baseline in it.
- It’s not an enterprise project-controls platform. There’s no Procore / Autodesk integrations and portfolio features are limited to its own tracked-project view.
- Its delay analysis is a subtractive, single-base time-impact comparison rather than a full suite of AACE MIP methods. Analysts running formal windows / daily-half-step analysis or building a multi-method forensic case for a dispute will still likely opt for specialist desktop tools (and expert judgement).
- It is a relatively new entrant. The deep, mature check libraries of the established desktop tools have a longer track record.

Bottom Line
ScheduleLens is a fast, accessible way to get a standards-referenced quality and delay read on a program without desktop software. Its strongest use case is for the owner-side reviewer and the multi-format or occasional user.
It’s certainly not trying to replace P6/Asta for scheduling, or the deep desktop forensic suites for full multi-method dispute work. So, within its lane, the speed, format coverage and pay-per-report model are its differentiators.
