Deltek is holding its annual Deltek Insight 2019 conference on Nov 18-21. Deltek Insight 2019 will be a four-day celebration of Deltek’s products and solutions and attracts over 4,000 delegates from multiple industries; ranging from construction, oil & gas to health care and IT. With over 70 tracks aimed at project & program management, Deltek has something for everyone regardless of whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced in your career. The format for Deltek Insight 2019 is over 350 tracks, pre-conference workshops, networking, keynote speakers, Expo and Celebrate Insight.
The workshops are designed to offer delegates an in-depth look at specific topics, just before the start of Insight on Monday, Nov 18. The workshops are all run by industry experts, which are 3 hours in duration, running from 9 am- 12 pm.
With so many tracks to choose from, which are all led by industry professionals we’ve categorized them into areas; Product Overview, Best Practice, Industry Trends, Tips and Tricks and reviewed a few of them.
Open Plan- New Features and Roadmap – Robert Edwards is the Product Director for Schedule and Risk as well as liaison for Regulatory Compliance within the PPM product suite. Rob will review all the latest features and improvements in Open Plan 8.3., including the support for the recently released AAP EVM (formerly PARCA EVM) IPMR 2 formats. Rob will also take a look at what can be expected next year.
PM Compass New Features and Roadmap – Jack Newton, Deltek will review all the additional features and improvements made to PM Compass since last year, which have increased its performance and efficiency. Jack will take a look at what to expect from PM Compass in the coming months.
Deltek Cobra New Features and Roadmap – Kathy Boatwright is Director of Product Strategy and Management. Kathy will review new features in the latest version of Cobra. These include support for the new AAP EVM IPMR 2 format, Project View updates, and other functional improvements. Kathy will also provide a roadmap of plans for the coming year.
An Introduction to Acumen Touchstone – Robert Edwards, Product Director, Deltek. Rob will introduce Acumen Touchstone which provides a web portal for the automated collection and scoring of project schedules. Rob will offer a live demonstration as well as a complete overview.
Deltek wInsight Analytics – new features and roadmap – Mike Boulton, Deltek, will present the new features included in wInsight 8.3. Mike will review the support for the recently released IPMR 2 format and making detailed Control Account and Work Package data available in wInsight Desktop. Mike will demonstrate the new features, and explore future developments.
Project Acceleration: Why, When, How – Tom Polen, Deltek. Tom will demonstrate Acumen 360, offering his insights on when to accelerate a project, leverage Acumen in the process, and how to communicate the acceleration scenarios to the team. Tom will also review the new Acumen 360 Executive Briefing Report.
Don’t Make Your Training Sheep Dip! – Lorrie Blanchard Tietze is the owner of Interface Consulting, where she assists clients in achieving sustainable change and improved results. Lorrie will offer her insights on how training isn’t the end, just the beginning. Using real-life examples Lorrie will provide solutions that are practical, applicable, and sustainable on how a commitment to follow-up training enables real business benefits to be realized.
Establishing an EVM Center of Excellence (COE) – People, Process and Tools – Jonathan Carhunt Accenture Federal Services will offer a brief overview of an EVM compliance journey. Jonathan will offer his insights on how to select an EVM tool, and what steps are required to create your EVM processes, documents, and training. Jonathan will also offer tips for integrating cost and schedule tools and explain how to structure an EVM Center of Excellence plan.
Women in Project-Based Business: A conversation about Innovation, Technology & Projects – Natasha Engan, is Deltek’s Consulting business leader. Natasha and a panel of business leaders will in this interactive session, discuss innovation, projects, diversity of teams and being inclusive in the workplace.
DCMA Tech Solutions and the DECM Metrics – Anthony Presley DCMA, is an Earned Value Management Specialist Lead in the DCMA EVMS Center Orlando Group, with over 25 years’ experience. Anthony will give an overview of software tools DCMA uses for data analysis using the DECM process. Anthony will offer his insights on how DCMA uses direct tool outputs and will offer tips for submitting data to DCMA.
Tips and Tricks
Cobra Tips and Tricks – Mary Major, Deltek is a Sr. Principal Solutions Engineer, with over 25 years’ experience focusing on the PPM solutions. Mary will provide an overview of some of Cobra’s newer functionality along with older favorites: resource assignment export/import, multiple rate files, multiple calendar sets, project preferences, application preferences, zero out data, views, calculated results, and user-defined fields.
Secrets of Acumen – Tom Polen and Jarod Maloney, Deltek will offer their insights on all the useful aspects of the Deltek Acumen suite of Fuse, Risk, and 360. Tom and Jarod will demonstrate how to assess project health, risk, and perform project optimization and explain how to stay up to date with the latest Acumen features.
Eliminate your Costing Spreadsheets, integrate with Cobra and win more work! – Kelly Brayton InEight. Kelly will offer her insights on how spreadsheets can be error-prone and how with InEight costing and estimating solutions can lead to better collaboration & security. Kelly will explain how with access to historical pricing and manpower management InEight solutions can save time and money offering a more confident proposal.
Making Acumen Fuse Metrics Work for You – Kaitlyn Maglietto works for Textron Systems in Earned Value Management, where she has adapted Acumen metrics and import files to work with Primavera and MPM. Kaitlyn will offer her insights on how Textron Systems has adapted Acumen Fuse Metrics explaining how delegates can make their systems match (csv file, .xer edit, etc.). Kaitlyn will also explain how to edit and create metrics and offer tips for staying up-to-date with DECM.
Networking is provided throughout the four days, during the lunch and afternoon breaks. This year Deltek is providing product-specific tables, in the product networking lounge where delegates can meet with like-minded friends who maybe problem-solving over a specific product.
