Sometimes a little color makes all the difference. Let’s discuss setting a node band themes style and color features to make working in the Enterprise Project Structure view more efficient.
Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) release 18.8 has an Enterprise Project Structure (EPS) data structure for organizing projects in a hierarchy. The EPS consists of folders called nodes and projects containing schedules. In support of better project file organization in the EPS, P6 EPPM has several node band themes to choose from. These node band themes provide clarity to the EPS view to help schedulers more readily organize projects in a hierarchy.
This article demonstrates a quick tip to set the node band theme of the EPS view.
We have in Figure 1 the EPS view of a respective user login.

This EPS view has a grayscale color scheme, which can make distinguishing the nodes and projects in the hierarchy tiresome. Let’s update the EPS theme to better support organization of projects in a hierarchy. In Figure 2 we choose the customize view feature.

In the customize view dialog we select the Grouping page, Figure 3

We then select Theme, Figure 4, to choose from a variety of style and color schemes for our EPS.

Summary
Primavera P6 EPPM supports different style and color node band themes to help make the organization of projects more efficient. This includes both vertical and horizontal style bands, and an array of different color schemes. The theme can also be saved as part of a global or user view. Primavera P6 EPPM also supports style and color schemes for the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) activity page viewing.
