EVM World is being held in the Big Easy at the prestigious Hyatt Regency where there is over 200,000 square feet devoted to conference facilities. Earned Value Management is aimed at all industries in Project Management including Healthcare, Construction, Aircraft industry, Government and Academia. The format of EVM World will be: – Training, Practice Symposia, Workshops, Keynotes Speakers, Tools and Tracks and Networking.
Training is aimed at all levels of delegates, from beginner to advanced. Training will be divided into six core areas: –

The Practice Symposia are a forum designed to draw a link between Integrated Program Manager (IPM) and the theory of EVM where best practices can be shared and lessons learned, researching innovative solutions. Tracks that will be covered include:

The workshops are not designed for training but an opportunity to have an open discussion on the workshop topics, developing new and emerging practices with your peers to improve program management using project performance management. Industry professionals will lead these sessions, in hand with the College of Performance Management (CPM) aiming to provide the latest information on Earned Value Management and identify potential solutions. Topics include:
- EVM Research, guiding the future -chaired by Vicki Frahm from Sandia Corporation.
- PARCA: Department of Defense/ EVM policy. Application, reporting and implementation- chaired by John McGregor, Deputy Director of Earned Value Management / PARCA.
- DCMA Update- chaired by Russell Rodewald, Acting Deputy Director OSD ATL PARCA for Earned Value Management.
- Four Simple Steps to complete Traceability into your project- chaired by Jason Kinder Director of Product Marketing, Deltek
- In Defense of Integrated Program Management (IPM)- chaired by Gary Troop, who helped to create wInsight and Risk+ analytical software tools. Gary is a part-time professor at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU)
Networking is scheduled after every workshop and the key note speakers will be present at the majority of them for a Q&A session.
Wednesday 31st May – Stephen Shinn is Chief Finance Officer at the NASA Goddard Space Center. Stephen has a wealth of experience in EVM, project planning and control, scheduling, cost engineering, system integration and software management.
Thursday 1st June – Gary Bliss is the Director, Performance Assessments and Root Cause Analyses (PARCA), in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition. Gary is an experienced and practiced speaker.
Friday 2nd June – Sandra Fairchild is Project Services Support Director, Savannah River Remediation LLC. Sandra has over 31 years experience in technical planning, financial controls management, EVM data analysis techniques, and government procurement.
Tools and Tracks
The tools and tracks offer the opportunity to hear from vendors first hand about the newest trends and tools available for the most complex of projects. These world-class performance management tools range from earned value tracking to scheduling and reporting.
New to EVM World this year is the Pro Tools Training sessions where an elite group of vendors will be able to offer micro sessions without competition to attendees in the refreshment breaks. For example on Thursday 1st June from10.30am- 11.00am Deltek will offer a quick hitting shot of information about EVM and IPPM from their unique perspective.

Hyatt House is a four star hotel 0.2 miles from the Hyatt Regency. The rooms are large with comfortable beds. The hotel provides a full breakfast that is exceptional. Staff will go out of their way to accommodate their guests and nothing appears to be too much trouble for them. As it is close to the convention center at the Hyatt Regency a shuttle bus runs to and fro during the day. A two-night stay costs $446.94.

Chateau Orleans offers one or two bed apartments located less than a mile from the Hyatt Regency. Chateau Orleans has been described as an oasis in a busy area. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staffs are very helpful and knowledgeable of the local area. The beds and room are comfortable and the quirky French old world charm is endearing. The Kitchen area is equipped with up to date utensils including a coffee percolator. A two-night stay costs $530.65.
