Are you experiencing this issue? Primavera P6 EPPM Service fails during node manager startup
Symptons:
On Windows Server 2008 – When starting the P6 EPPM service using the start_Primavera.bat, the startup process fails and the command window collapses while attempting to load the Oracle WebLogic node manager portion of the startup script.
Cause:
Typically this can occur when the previous session of Primavera P6 was closed incorrectly; i.e. not using the stop_Primavera.bat option in the P6 EPPM items in the Start | Programs menu. This leaves blank copies of the P6.state and PR.state files in the Oracle Middleware directory structure of the Weblogic server.
Solution:
Delete the P6.state file and restart the Primavera P6 EPPM service. You may need to delete other blank .state files also in the WebLogic home directories.
Example of state file locations in a typical Primavera P6 EPPM installation:
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\P6\data\nodemanager\P6.state
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\PR\data\nodemanager\PR.state
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\AdminServer\data\nodemanager\AdminServer.state
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\TeamMember\data\nodemanager\TeamMember.state
