Blank list or Missing Codes in the Primavera P6 Professional Code selection dialog
If you find in Primavera P6 Professional that the lovely list of code values you just entered for an activity or project don’t show up in the Code dialog when you attempt to assign them – here’s why.
Primavera’s P6 Select dialog has a predilection to open with its filter set to Current Project’s Values when you open it in a new session. This means that if you’ve not yet assigned any of your values to the project you’re currently in (because you just built the list for example), then the dialog will be totally blank when you first open it. I’ve had this one come up again and again in training classes.
To fix this, click on the drop-down bar titled ‘Display:’ at the top of the dialog, choose Filter By> and select All Values.
You’ll now get a full list of the codes you entered, regardless of whether they’ve been assigned in the current project or not.
I hope that this Primavera P6 tip helps folks.
